2012 Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics

This is the time of the year when some people enjoy freezing their butts for the benefit of others. I'm one of those who like to challenge mother nature and her elements :)
This year, again, together with Jerry, my brother in law, we decided to enjoy a nice swim in our beautiful Lake Michigan to raise the awareness and money for the great cause, Special Olympics. With comfortable temperatures of 28F, winds of up to 30 mph, and wind chills down to 14F, but water always above 32F we have little room to complain! Check out more HERE

Lake Michigan during the coldest day of 2011 thus far

So far the coldest day in Chicago happened to be today, January 21, 2011. With the temperatures dropping down to -4F and up to 13mph winds, the chill factor can give an unpleasant feeling to exposed skin. In other words, it's pretty cold!!!
I was able to snap a few pictures by the lake, which surprisingly is not frozen (even after weeks of sub-zero temperatures). As usual, the lake at these temperatures looks like it's boiling, which creates spectacular views. Here are some of the pictures.
