Polar plunge into frigid waters of Lake Michigan.... check.
This past Sunday, March 6, 2011, Jerry, my BIL (brother-in-law) and I, along with some two thousand other crazy people, took a plunge into Lake Michigan. Personally, I love cold weather and cold water, so 29ºF and 10mph wind was not as polar as I thought. Nevertheless, the experience was quite refreshing and feeling of thousands of needles piercing through my body was almost addictive. LOL.
The plunge was done on my part, the donations were done on yours. I have raised over $500. Many many thanks to all the supporters, friends, and family. This was my first time taking part in the fundraiser for Chicago Special Olympics, but definitely not the last. I want this to become an annual tradition. The fun isn't over yet. As I promised, together with Jerry, we are walking and kayaking to Wisconsin. This will take place very soon.
