Kayak Equinox 10.4

First, sorry about the video being sideways. I shot it with my phone and it was difficult to paddle and record at the same time.
I finally took my Equinox 10.4 kayak on Lake Michigan. The waves were a bit rough at some point up to 3ft. Not too bad, but I learned one thing: I definitely need either a skirt of a pump for my kayak. Even though with every high wave water was pouring into my cockpit, it was still not bad (except for the water that was 42ºF). It handles very well, not that I care to make rapid maneuvers on the lake, but it comes useful to rapidly steer towards, away, or sideways to waves in a way to avoid either water overflow into the cockpit or tipping over when hit by a wave. By the way, it would require a really, really big wave to tip this kayak over (it's super stable). It's also very fast. I easily covered 3 miles/hr against waves and strong winds. With every higher wave I got a nice refreshing waterfall inside my cockpit, but that can, I think, be avoided if I pack the kayak (especially the front) with equipment, which will give it more stability and it would not fly like a feather over every incoming wave, but rather cut through the waves. After paddling for two hours my legs started to get a bit uncomfortable, but there is plenty of room to bend my knees and stretch a bit. I have some back problems, but the seat was comfortable enough that I can not complain of any pain. I could definitely paddle for 12 hrs and still be in my comfort zone. One bit of advice: I'm 5ft 10 and I found the cockpit to fit me exactly, so it you are taller, you may find yourself a bit uncomfortable. Anyhow, in summary, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Absolutely worth every penny.
